Declutter your garage

We all know that garages are for cars but how many of us use a garage as a dumping ground? In haste, most things that we don’t know what to do with or get broken end up in the garage for us to sort out ‘one day’. Well, if you’ve finally piled up so much stuff that you cannot get inside the garage, it might be time for a spring clean!

Make a plan

Before heading in armed with gloves and bin bags, think about what your goal is. If you have an idea of how you want the space to be used, it can provide strong motivation for getting the job done. Maybe you want the space back to turn into a home gym or a handy laundry room? Now you have a purpose, it’s time to crack on!

Approach

The process will seem a lot less daunting if you think of it in stages. Maybe you will work section-by-section or blitz the space by emptying the whole garage and then building it back up again? Don’t focus on the negative of how the garage got in a mess, just concentrate on the positive mindset of achieving something. For Llanelli Skip Hire, visit Pendragon Skip Hire.

Be honest with yourself

Have you used this item in the last 12 months? If not, put it into the one of several piles – one for recycling, one for eBay, one for the charity shop and one for the skip. Anything of real sentimental value, you can store in the loft or basement. Don’t be hard on yourself for never using something but if you haven’t used it in the last year and can’t imagine using in the next year, part with it!
