Head to Loch Ness and Get Closer to Nature

Whether you are sick of the sight of your house after many months being locked in, or just have a hankering for the great outdoors, one off the best ways to have a holiday, whilst enjoying the fresh air and maintaining social distancing is camping.

Heading off to a remote part of the country to enjoy some time in the wilderness sleeping under the stars is a real pleasure in life. All you need are your supplies to make sure you are ready for all that nature can offer you – for example, for climbing shoes Ireland based shop Basecamp will be able to make sure you have the right footwear for scaling the heights of mountains, or hiking across the moors.

If it is the wilderness and great outdoors you are after, there is nothing better than the Scottish Highlands, and your trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the famous Loch Ness.

Located just south of Inverness, Loch Ness is a huge loch, at over 36km in length, and its fame of course, is down to the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie. Many people come hoping to catch a glimpse of the monster of the loch, and one man Steve Feltham has set up permanent residence in his van on the bank of the loch, and devoted his life to finding evidence of Nessie’s existence.

As well as hunting for Nessie, you can also enjoy amazing birdwatching opportunities, take a boat out onto the loch, and explore the ancient medieval castle on the bank of the loch – Urquhart Castle.
